I struggled with that, but there’s no way to make the story real without using them. My hope is that non-military readers don’t get hung up on military details, but instead have a general understanding of what the terms mean. Nice! Can’t decide if the realism the use of so much military titles and words outweighs the cumbersomeness of reading through them. Either way I’d love to read more.
