Where to buy my books
Proof of Our Resolve, my first book, is a novel about a Texas Army National Guard infantry platoon in Afghanistan. The book was released September 15th, 2012. This novel is my attempt to convey some of what I and other Soldiers experienced through a fictional platform. The book’s characters are much like many Soldiers and Marines I have known and served with, the environment and operations are as close to real as I can make them. The goal of all my writing is to bring reality to the reader; my stories have no Delta/SEAL/Ranger/Recon/Green Beret/Ninjas massacring millions of enemy with backflipping hatchet attacks. I’ve never met the perfect Soldier who never flinches, never makes mistakes, and never feels emotion, so I didn’t put him in this book.
If you’d like to know about the on-the-ground experience of a Soldier in Afghanistan, please read this novel. Thank you for your interest, and if you read it I hope you enjoy it. I would ask that any reader send me a little feedback, even if you think my book sucks.
Thanks,
Chris

This novel is about an attack on the Texas border. Jerry Nunez and his soldiers are ordered to retake one of eight small towns held by unknown attackers. Nunez finds himself in the most brutal, horrible fight of his life, where everything – EVERYTHING – goes wrong.
Book three has been released as well. Safe From the War is about Jerry’s experience as a cop after coming home from Afghanistan, and the horrible terrorist attack he finds himself in the middle of.
Please check my books out, guys. I think you’ll enjoy them.
Chris, I knew there was a reason I liked your thinking! My son served as a Marine for a tour in Iraq and my first FTO was a Marine DI. I’d really like to have a hard copy of your book, so when it comes out, consider me on the list!
I don’t kindle.
Any chance you’ll have a dead tree version available?
JimP
I will, but it’s going to be a few months. Do you read on your computer? You can download a Kindle or Nook app for free and read it that way.
Chris
SSG Garcia RTE. Good job buddy the pin will set you free! i would like a hard copy when it comes out, and yes ill pay for it.
Good to see you here, Dave. I’ll be glad to sign a book for you, and remember when you would put that woman on speaker phone during our deployment trainup? I’m going to write about that too. 🙂
Hi Chris, thank you for your many years of service.
I just ordered your book on amazon and wanted to let you know it is currently on sale for $5.99!
Keep up the good work,
zuk
William,
Thanks for buying the book, and please drop a review when you’re done. Even if you think the book sucks. 🙂
how about your next book? was proposed to be out by summer’s end. I live 80 miles from Houston and summer is over. Am awaiting it’s release much as I wait for a Clancy novel. By the way, I work in the oilfield down there and your book sounds entirely plausible
Max,
The cover art is taking longer than expected, so the release has been delayed. I apologize for that. On the other hand, it is absolutely freakin’ cool that you think so highly of my writing. 🙂
I hope to have it out by the end of the year, will keep everyone advised. Thanks Max.
Chris
Chris, I have left this on 2 other sites LOL, so please ignore the repeat. I wanted to see if there was a way to get a signed personalized copy of your book. I am buying it (now that it looks like i can buy the actual book) for my fiance who is a 2 time war vet and currently in the Oklahoma National Guard. Obviously I am going to buy the book anyway, but personalized would be icing on the cake. (Im willing to pay extra for shipping or whatever is needed.) Thank you!! Melissa Miller
Replied by email, and thanks!
HI Chris, finished the book on vacation. I was moved to tears. (and also laughed out loud) I’ll get a review up as soon as I catch up on work.
I would like to impose on you for a personal favor (just some info), in aid of a young Marine in my CERT class. It’s not something I want to post. Is there an email address I can contact you at? I’ve tried other avenues, but struck out, and am hoping you can point me in the right direction. (I’m in Houston.)
Thanks, and keep up the writing!
Replied to by email. Bill and I had a good conversation, I’m looking forward to reading his review and am also eagerly waiting to hear the status on the Marine.
Hi Chris, thanks for getting back to me. I enjoyed our conversation alot! I’ve emailed some details, but wanted to say “thanks” publicly for taking the time to help.
The review should be up on Amazon before tomorrow morning. The short version, “I liked this book and think Chris has a real talent. The dialog works, the exposition is clear, the story is compelling. I was left wanting more, and look forward to the next book.”

Hi Chris, I just posted this mini-review of Line in the Valley on Amazon – you rock!
Didn’t Want to Put It Down…
But I did not read it straight through because it is so intense – and I didn’t want it to end too quickly. Great plot twists and the characters introduced in “Proof of Our Resolve” are further developed. I’m sure anyone with a military/police background with relish this book. I have neither and loved it. It is violent, so be warned.
Thank you Ann!
Any chance of “Line in the Valley” being in good ole’ fashioned print at some point? I’d much rather own a physical copy than an e-book.
I’m a 27 year old Ohio ARNG vet and I sound like an old man with my dislike of “modern tech” huh? 🙂
Actually, quite a few readers prefer dead tree to electronic reading. Damn my luck.
I hope to have Line in print this summer. Thanks for your interest, and your service.
Any plans for releasing Audio Books?
Not yet, although I really should. Would you know any good ways to go about that?
I waiting almost patiently for book 4. I have read and enjoyed the first three.
